One Last Sunny Day & Winter Wishes
If you are anything like me, it’s impossible not to get excited about wintertime. There is something so romantic and cozy about it getting dark early and the thought of snow. That said, I always love to soak up the last bits of warmth during these last few weeks of Autumn. As I reflect on the last couple of months, I realize it’s been such a whirlwind for me. This summer was blissful – sunny days (like today, yay!), beach vacations, and finally feeling like New York is my home. Autumn had it’s bumps and bruises, but overall between both seasons, I’ve fallen back in love with New York City in all of it’s skyscraper, hot dog vendor, fashion enthusiast and rat infested glory. From visiting the top of the One World Trade, to seeing first hand how much passion can arise from tragedy like the Orlando Shooting and going pumpkin picking upstate with some of the kindest humans I’ve met. It’s all restored my faith in humanity knowing happiness is attainable; you just need to grab it for yourself.
As some of you may, or may not, know I’ve recently gone through a little bit of a tough patch. Some health issues that I’m trying to get under control. Need not worry, I am feeling almost all better! Anyways, throughout this fall I have never felt so loved and supported by so many people. Love came flowing through the woodworks, just like the sun somehow manages to sneak through cracks in between the buildings on this beautiful, warm, Autumn day in NYC. There is a silver lining in every situation, and I can’t help but think that this is the best possible way to start my winter and New Year; with love, support and happiness.
I always try to make a list of wants and wishes at the beginning of each season. As this is probably going to be one of the last warm days for a while, I’ve done the same for winter.
